Anesthesiology Opportunities in Southeast Indiana!!
Full-time Hospital-employed positions - 4 Openings!!
Base Pay $475,000
Sign-On Bonus $50,000
Recruitment Incentive - 5 years, $100,000
Vacation Time 8 weeks
Relocation Allowance Up to $15,000
Call Coverage Backup call: 1 in 7 Weekday Call: 2 calls per week (One 1st call & one 2nd call)
Weekend Call: Call from home
Additional Call Day stipend, inclusive of call $2,000
CME Hours (After first year of employment) 40 hours of CME time off per year
CME & Dues Allowance (After first year of employment) $4,000 per contract year
Full health benefits package, 403(b) with contribution and 457(b)
Other -Pays Licensure, DEA, CSR, Malpractice (is occurrence based with tail coverage provided by hospital)
" Completion of an anesthesia residency program or qualified CRNA program
" Board certification or board eligible (Certification will be required)
" Must be ACLS certified
" We currently have four (4) fulltime Anesthesiologist and two (2) fulltime CRNA on staff
" Anesthesia physicians do not supervise the CNRA's. The CRNA's work independently under the supervision of the surgeon they are assisting
" Will sit your own cases & prep your own patients
" We have 7 ORs, 1 cysto room- we run 4 every day and hold one for OB.
" Night call is mostly for OB. When on call - come in and place epidural, then you can go back home. Nurse can place bag, but any bolus or change in mediation would require the on call anesthesia to come back in to address
" During VBAC anesthesia is required to stay in the house - all other times anesthesia can take call from home, but must be within 17 minutes response time to the hospital due to Code-17, which is an emergency C-section and we have 17 minutes to get baby delivered
" Back up call is mostly for epidurals or emergency C-sections, or if the primary on call anesthesia provider is busy in a big case
" Hospital C-section rate is lower than the National rate
" 1.0 OB deliveries per day
" Approximately 371 baby deliveries per year
" Epidural, some regional blocks, Interscalen (single injection not catheters) block for shoulder surgeries, Neuraxial block's, rarely perform other blocks
" Cases - ENT, Eyes, Bariatric, GS, OB, Ortho, Spine (simple). Average 2,668 cases a year.
" No hearts, no neurosurgery, no GYN oncology, no multi-organ failure-stabilize and transfer major and major trauma sent out
" We do 10-12 VBACs a year (Average 1 a month) Anesthesia must be on site during VBACs
" Anesthesia does not participate with Pain Management - we have a physician that provide this service for Hospital
" Anesthesia only responds to codes if trouble with airway
" Central line placement is rare for our anesthesia team
" Do not do kids under the age of 1 year unless physician to anesthesia physician communication takes place prior to scheduling surgery. EXCEPT ear tubes we will do if healthy 6 months and older
" If tonsils procedures are done on a patients under the age of 3 years, our ENT has the patient stay overnight for monitoring
" Hips & knees are done under spinal anesthesia and going home same day
" Only help with endoscopies or TEEs if the GI doctor has a difficult patient and this is usually prescheduled
" Glide scope in every room
