Federal (Indian Health Service) anesthesia contract assignment in northern Arizona for Navajo Nation:
  • You do not need an Arizona license as this is a government hospital
  • Low-volume assignment (the hospital is 60 beds)
  • Paid travel/lodging
  • Board Certification is not required
  • Overview: 3-5 cases per day on average: bread and butter cases, gallbladders, appendectomies, dental, colonoscopies, endoscopies, intubations in the difference units (ICU, ER, RT). Also do OB and occasional trauma.

Job Responsibilities

Perform general anesthesia for elective, urgent and emergent cases. Provide sedation to include; minimal, moderate, and deep sedation. Provide regional anesthesia to include: neuraxial (epidural and spinal) and extremity blocks. Provide anesthesia services for all age groups and degrees of disability to include trauma.

Qualifications

Completed Anesthesia Residency
Any active state license (do not need an Arizona license to work here)
Unrestricted DEA
ACLS, BLS, PALS

Working Hours

Work Schedule:
Tour of Duty: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with a 30 minute lunch break, Monday through Friday, Forty (40) per week, On-call: weeknight and weekend call split among staff
