Locum Anesthesiologist *119388: Northern, Virginia
Dates: 2/22/2024 - 12/31/2024
Needed: 3
Looking for 10 or 11 hour shifts
Case mix: All cases presenting to the facility though currently we do not cardiac, transplants, high risk pediatrics or heads
OB: Definitely need skill set for epidurals, spinals and general anesthesia for emergency c-sections
Ortho: Absolutely and will need to be facile with regional anesthesia
Neuro/Heads: Spine surgery- cervical, thoracic and lumbar cases no heads
Pediatrics: Yes healthy pediatrics
MD's doing own cases unless on call then would supervise the CRNAs and see all cases and add-ons during the day
Supervision ratio. 3:1, 2:1
OT not expected (may occur)
Paper Charting
Credentialing two to three months 2-3 months
Responsibilities | Assist in the directing and coordinating of Activities in the Anesthesia Department | Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious ad/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures | Pre-anesthesia assessment | Obtains and/or verifies patient consent | Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient | Induction, maintenance and emergence from anesthesia | Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition | Performance of clinical intervention as needed
Requirements | M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine | ECFMG and FLEX | Completion of approved Residency in Anesthesia | Currently licensed as a Physician
