Job Title: Anesthesiologist

Position Overview: We are currently seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Anesthesiologist to join our anesthesia team in Cambridge, MA. The Anesthesiologist will play a key role in providing anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical and interventional procedures. This position offers a flexible schedule and competitive compensation package with benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical, obstetrical, and interventional procedures, including general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and monitored anesthesia care (MAC).
  • Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations, including patient history and physical examination, to assess anesthesia risk and develop individualized anesthesia plans.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and responses to anesthesia during surgery, adjusting anesthetic agents and techniques as needed to ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Manage intraoperative complications and emergencies, including airway management, cardiovascular support, and fluid resuscitation, in collaboration with surgical and nursing staff.
  • Provide post-anesthesia care and pain management services, including acute pain management and post-operative analgesia, to ensure optimal patient recovery and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, proceduralists, and other healthcare providers to optimize perioperative care and patient outcomes.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance anesthesia practice and patient safety.
  • Stay informed of advances in anesthesia practice, pharmacology, and technology, and incorporate evidence-based practices into clinical care.

Requirements:

  • Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) is required.
  • Current licensure as a physician in the state of Massachusetts
  • Completion of an accredited residency training program in anesthesiology.
  • Strong clinical skills and proficiency in anesthesia practice, including airway management, regional anesthesia techniques, and perioperative medicine.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with surgical teams and healthcare providers.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, safety, and quality improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and occasional evenings, as needed.
