Position Summary

Primary Responsibilities

As an Air Force medical professional, one of your key responsibilities may be administering anesthesia to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. You will need to closely monitor and manage patients' vital signs, such as heart rate, blood pressure, and breathing during anesthesia. Working closely with surgeons and other medical staff, you will determine the type and anesthesia method best suited for each patient and procedure. In the event of any complications that may arise during or after anesthesia, you will be responsible for managing them effectively. Additionally, you may be required to provide patients with post-operative pain management to ensure a comfortable and speedy recovery. As an Air Force medical professional, ensuring the health and well-being of those who serve our country is vital.

Qualifications

This is an active duty position as an Air Force officer. To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree
  • Completion of residency in anesthesiology or board certification by the American Board of Anesthesiology
  • Completion of eight-week Officer Training School
  • Must be a U.S. citizen between the ages of 18 and 47
  • Must be willing to relocate
