Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking General, Pediatric & Acute Pain Anesthesiologists to join a growing team at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. The employed physician group of SMHCS, First Physicians Group, took over Anesthesiology in April 2023 and is growing this group to include 40+ physicians and 100+ CRNAs. Highlights of the Opportunity:
- A full-time Anesthesiologist is expected to cover 210 shifts annually, with additional pay for extra shifts.
- Diverse mix of cases including Endo, General Surgery, Neuro, OB, Oncology, Ortho, Robotics, Spine, Vascular, and Level II Trauma.
- Staffing model planned is 40+Anesthesiologists, and 100+ CRNAs covering 65+ sites including Cath Lab, IR, Endo, ECT.
- Average anesthesia volume is 55,000 cases annually.
- Physicians will have oversight of CRNA’s (1:4 ratio)

- Premium pay calculation if clinician works past scheduled shift. Premium calculation also applies if clinician opts to pick-up extra shifts.

- Sarasota Memorial and First Physicians Group are not-for-profit organizations. Physicians can participate in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program if employed by First Physicians Group.
- As an employee of a public, State of Florida organization, physicians are entitled to sovereign immunity. No tail coverage is needed should you leave the practice.
