JOB OVERVIEW

• Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7 AM – 5 PM

PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Neonates, Pediatrics, Adults
• Patient Volume/Census: 2–8 cases per day, depending on supervision model
• Case Mix: Neonatal cases, non-OR anesthesia/sedation, general surgery, pediatric urology, ENT, dental, pediatric orthopedics. Some adult patient management required.

FACILITY INFORMATION
• Trauma Level: Level 1 Trauma Center | Level 2 Children's Surgery Facility
• EMR System: Epic
• Specialty Backup Available: Faculty pediatric anesthesiologists and charge anesthesiologists available for assistance
• Support Staff Available: CRNAs, Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants (AAs), anesthesia technicians, and patient support assistants
• Reason for Coverage: Locum coverage for specific dates through the end of the year

REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• General anesthesia
• Intubation
• IV placement
• Fiberoptic bronchoscopy
• Arterial line placement
• Central line placement
• Nerve block procedures (infrequent, only if within provider’s skill set)

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active medical license required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Experience: Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship preferred; will accept experience in place of fellowship if Board Certified
• Other Qualifications: Must be board-certified or board-eligible (BC/BE)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide pediatric anesthesia services for neonates, infants, and pediatric patients
• Manage a mix of solo cases and supervision of CRNAs, AAs, and anesthesia residents (CA-1 to CA-3)
• Handle both OR and non-OR anesthetizing locations (MRI, radiology, endoscopy)
• Optional participation in occasional resident didactic lectures
• Work collaboratively in a collegial environment
