Position Overview

• Specialty: Anesthesiology – General & Cardiac Positions
• Contract Length: 26 weeks (flexible)
• Start Date: January 13, 2025 (or by February 3, 2025 at the latest)
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 06:30 AM to 03:30 PM (5 days, 8-hour shifts)
• Shift Description: Day shifts
• Call: Occasional on-call availability required (weekends and overnights)

Facility Details

• Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital
• Location: Cedar Rapids, IA
• Trauma Level: I, II, III, IV
• Charting Software: Epic
• Procedures: General Anesthesia, Trauma, Endoscopic Procedures
• Hospital Environment: 13 ORs, 5 Endo suites, and 2 ASCs located 10 miles away from the main hospital
• Average Monthly Cases: 1,200
• Trauma Cases: 700 trauma cases annually (Majority blunt force and agricultural accidents)

Work Requirements

• Licensure: IA (Must have or be willing to obtain an Iowa state license or be IMLC licensed)
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience required (candidates with slightly less experience may be considered if licensed in IA)
• Certifications: Board certification required.
• Call Requirements:
  • Weekend Call: Available for occasional call (shared with other physicians).
  • Night Call: Cardiac call from 3:00 PM to 7:00 AM and general call from 3:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Other: Must be open to working in a high-volume trauma and surgical environment

• Credentialing Timeframe: 4 weeks for IA/IMLC licensed candidates
