  • Practice setting: high volume inpatient heart center
  • Number of Operating Rooms: 30
  • Cases are primarily cardiac and vascular, there is no OB or trauma.
  • Provide anesthesia care for patients undergoing cardiac surgical procedures, including CABG, valve replacements, and other complex cardiac surgeries.
  • Average Number of Surgical Cases Per Day: Cardiac Cases per day- 6-8 cases
  • Will NOT be required to supervise CRNAs
  • Patient demographic: primarily adult and geriatric- some child
  • The physicians provide general and regional anesthesia for a variety of endoscopic, cardiac, orthopedic, pediatric, obstetric, cosmetic, and general surgical procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with our team of cardiac surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in pre-operative evaluations and post-operative care of cardiac patients.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of anesthesia protocols and practices within the institute.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications

Board Eligible (within 5 years of eligibility) or Board Certified in Anesthesia - REQUIRED
ECHO Board Certified and/or Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellowship-Trained (to be complete prior to start) - REQUIRED
NY License (or willing to obtain) - REQUIRED
BLS, ACLS, PALS (by time of start) - REQUIRED

Working Hours

Schedule: variable- 8,10,12 hour shifts
On call:  The call rotation is 1:5 with first call every eighth night, no second call.
