We are seeking a Locums Allergist Physician to join our team in Houston, TX. This provider will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive allergy and sinus care, ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction with every interaction. The physician will be responsible for providing allergy testing and treatment for patients aged two years and older, helping them achieve lasting relief from allergy and sinus conditions. The Allergist will oversee and manage both food and environmental allergy testing, utilizing Percutaneous Allergy Skin Testing and Intracutaneous Allergy Testing. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, performing physical exams, and diagnosing or treating allergic and immunologic conditions. The provider will also administer oral immunotherapy treatments and SCIT injections, order and perform diagnostic tests such as skin pricks, intradermal tests, and patch tests, and inspect patient sinuses using a nasal endoscope to determine structural issues.

Additionally, the physician will develop comprehensive treatment plans for new and existing patients, provide pre-op and post-op evaluations after sinus procedures, and ensure timely documentation, with patient charting completed within 24 hours of each visit. This role requires travel between assigned clinic locations to ensure seamless patient care.

The physician will see approximately 20 patients per day, with a patient mix of 35% pediatric, 60% adult, and 5% geriatric, and about 50% being new patients. Walk-ins are not accepted.

Schedule:

  • Monday & Thursday: 8 AM – 5 PM (Odessa)
  • Tuesday & Wednesday: 8 AM – 5 PM (Midland)
  • Friday: 8 AM – 12 PM (Midland)

Requirements:

  • MD/DO with a minimum of two years of experience in Allergy, Asthma, or Primary Care
  • Experience in food allergy management, including food challenges
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified (BE/BC) in Allergy/Immunology
  • Must be licensed in Texas as an MD or DO
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • EMR System Used: NextGen
