We are currently seeking an Executive Vice President of Clinical Affairs (EVPCA) and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Johnson Health Center in Lynchburg, VA. The EVPCA/CMO is responsible for recommending and implementing clinical policies and procedures, supervising and inspiring provider staff, ensuring performance improvement activities in all clinical activities and is an integral part of the executive and leadership team of the health center. The EVPCA/CMO position is a highly visible executive position that collaborates closely with the Chief Executive Officers and peers to assure Johnson Health Center is living the mission, vision, and values.

Provides primary care to patients in accordance with medical specialty, assessing, diagnosing, treating, evaluating, and monitoring patients’ health status, including providing complete physical examinations.

Works half-day per week in clinic seeing patients.

The ideal candidate would possess these qualifications:

  • License to practice medicine in Virginia.
  • Current certification by appropriate specialty Board. Family medicine doctor preferred.
  • 10-15 years of proven clinical and executive leadership at the director or above level or equivalent related experience. FQHC experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office setting with travel to other offices often.

LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA

Lynchburg is a small Virginia city with an Old South feel and views of the Blue Ridge and Appalachian Mountains. The city is known for the historic districts of refined homes on the surrounding hilltops. Five of these districts are included in the National Register of Historic Districts. Additionally, five small colleges give a minor college-town feel. The area has a few good museums and modest entertainment assets. Mountains to the west and Smith Mountain Lake to the south offer above-average outdoor recreation. Lynchburg is situated in Central Virginia, in the James River Valley at the eastern edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The marine-influenced continental climate is usually pleasant with the first freeze is in late October, last is in mid-April.
