We are seeking a dedicated, effective, and compassionate Addiction Medicine Physician to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in diagnosing, treating, and supporting patients with substance use disorders and addiction-related health issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations and assessments for patients with substance use disorders
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices for addiction medicine
  • Prescribe and manage medications for addiction treatment
  • Provide ongoing continuity of care and transitions of care for patients with substance use disorders
  • Diagnose and treat co-occurring mental health disorders in patients with substance use disorders
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Participate in patient education and counseling on substance use and addiction-related topics
  • Teach fellows, residents, medical students and other health professional students in clinical settings
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in addiction medicine and incorporate them into practice

Qualifications:

  • Allopathic or osteopathic medical degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certification or eligibility in Addiction Medicine
  • Board certification in primary medical specialty
  • Valid state medical license and DEA registration and eligibility for an active, unrestricted Missouri license and BNDD registration
  • Experience in diagnosing and treating patients with substance use disorders
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based addiction treatment modalities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
  • Compassionate and non-judgmental approach to patient care

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to perform Basic Life Support (BLS) and respond to medical emergencies[1]
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education and professional development
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems
