A nonprofit organization in Ohio is dedicated to healing individuals experiencing substance use disorder (SUD) through learning, science, and partnership. The organization operates a 4.5-acre tech-enabled ecosystem in Dayton, Ohio, offering a comprehensive spectrum of SUD treatment services. The Dayton Medical Director will have both administrative and clinical responsibilities within the ecosystem and will play a crucial role in expanding high-quality SUD treatment services across multiple levels of care. This position reports to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and has a dotted line to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Job Responsibilities
Oversee care delivery and supervision of medical services across the continuum of care, including outpatient, intensive outpatient, and residential services.
Coordinate and oversee care provided by the Dayton-based medical provider team, including physicians and advanced practice providers.
Design and implement integrated clinical pathways and order sets for all stakeholders, including patients, medical staff, caregivers, care coordinators, and care advocates.
Recommend and implement an appropriate on-call coverage system among the organization's medical providers.
50% Direct Clinical Care
Provide direct patient care in one or more clinical settings, with flexibility in the choice of settings and cross-coverage across the spectrum of care.
Participate in an on-call rotation with other medical providers.
Serve as the collaborating physician for advanced practice providers, offering case review and mentorship.
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO) with 4-6+ years of experience in addiction medicine, delivering top results in patient health and well-being, patient satisfaction, and healthcare cost reduction.
Board certification in addiction medicine, psychiatry, or a related field.
A current medical license in Ohio and a DEA license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as a medical director.
Proven ability to work with clinical teams to achieve excellent outcomes.
Experience leveraging digital patient engagement solutions as a core component of care delivery workflows.
Experience with EMR/EHR workflow integration for health IT solutions.
