Job Description
The Medical Director will oversee and manage all aspects of addiction psychiatry within our client’s organization. This role requires a board-certified addiction psychiatrist with a minimum of 5 years of previous experience. The Medical Director will lead clinical initiatives, ensure high-quality patient care, and contribute to the development and implementation of treatment protocols. This is a hybrid position, requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical leadership and oversight for addiction psychiatry services.
- Develop and implement treatment protocols, ensuring evidence-based practices.
- Supervise and collaborate with the medical and clinical team to enhance patient care.
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and manage care for patients with substance use disorders.
- Prescribe and monitor medications, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
- Provide direct patient care and consultations as needed.
- Monitor clinical performance and outcomes, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory standards.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and contribute to patient safety programs.
- Review and update clinical policies and procedures to align with current research and guidelines.
- Mentor and support the professional development of clinical staff.
- Provide training and educational sessions on addiction psychiatry and related topics.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
- Contribute to the development and execution of organizational goals and strategies related to addiction services.
- Participate in program development, including expanding services and integrating new treatment modalities.
- Represent the organization at professional conferences and community events.
- Conduct virtual patient consultations and follow-ups.
- Participate in telehealth initiatives and remote team meetings.
- Provide remote support and guidance to clinical staff as needed.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
- Board certification in Addiction Psychiatry.
- At least 5 years of clinical experience as a psychiatrist, with a focus on addiction treatment.
- Proven leadership experience in a clinical setting.
- Strong clinical acumen and knowledge of addiction psychiatry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in telehealth practices and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
- Valid medical license in the state of practice (or ability to obtain one).
Please note- The annual base salary starts at $250k - $300k. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
