**NP/PA Movement Neurology opening: Burlington, MA**

**Position Details**
- Full-time, permanent
- Seeking to hire an advanced practice provider (nurse practitioner or physician assistant) to join our rapidly expanding movement and cognitive neurology service.
- Currently, the Movement program consists of 3 physicians, with 2 APPs and the Cognitive, Memory and Behavioral neurology program consists of 2 MDs, 3 APPs and 2 PhDs. It strives to ensure rapid access to a multidisciplinary team for our patients and to consistently provide superb care to even the most complex neurology patients in a collegial, collaborative and respectful environment. We work closely with Neuroradiology, Neurosurgery, Neuropsychology and Psychiatry to ensure that patients receive state of the art testing and treatments. We have one of the busiest Deep Brain Stimulation Program in the Boston area. We are a Center of Excellence for PSP. We are also involved in multiple research trials in movement and cognitive patients.
- Advanced Practitioners hired for this position will function as independent practitioners under the guidance of a physician. The APP will be responsible for the follow up of movement and cognitive patients in the outpatient clinic. Additionally, the APP will be trained in programming of deep brain stimulators. With experience there will be a role for the APPs to see new patients in movement and cognitive subspecialties.
- There is additional opportunity to train in outpatient procedures such as lumbar puncture, Botox administration and nerve blocks.
- The successful candidate will receive formal training in the outpatient clinic; be dedicated to the delivery of outstanding care to patients and their families; have excellent interpersonal skills; have the ability to function semi-autonomously in the care of challenging patients; and have enthusiasm for the teaching, learning, and quality improvement necessary for the successful building of the movement and cognitive programs. Research and teaching opportunities are available if desired.
**Qualifications:**
- Graduate of a Masters in Nursing program or a Physician Assistant program
- Certification and current NP or PA license to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (or eligibility to obtain)
