PA - Urgent Care opening in CA - Located in Escondido, CA - Full-time, permanent position Position Overview: Under the general direction of an assigned leader and the clinical supervision of a licensed physician, the Physician Assistant (PA) serves as a specialized clinical provider, expert clinician, and role model. Responsibilities: - Perform basic medical duties such as history taking, patient evaluation, routine medical procedures, minor surgical procedures, diagnosis, and recommended treatment. - Collaborate with physician counterparts to manage the healthcare needs of assigned patient populations. - Conduct initial and periodic physical examinations and medical histories in an outpatient setting. - Order appropriate lab tests, x-rays, EKGs, and comparable procedures according to criteria established by the responsible physician. - Write orders to adjust medications as necessary. - Maintain required documentation and consult with the physician on changes in the patient's condition. - Counsel patients on specifics related to their condition and recovery process, including prescribed treatments and medications. - Function as an active member of a multidisciplinary team to coordinate efforts across the health system to maximize clinical and financial outcomes.
