What we are looking for

NextCare is looking for an Assistant Accounting Manager to join our team.

Location

Join our team in Tempe, AZ. Hybrid 2 days a month in office.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Oversees certain functions of the Accounting department, in conjunction with the Accounting Manager, including fixed asset accounting and reporting, personal property tax accounting, sales/use tax compliance, and corporate income tax. This role supervises certain staff and/or senior accountant(s) with roles falling under its purview.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Actively train, supervise, and evaluate staff/senior accountant(s) reporting to this position
  • Monitor and analyze financial accounting data
  • Manage and oversee fixed asset accounting and capital asset reconciliations
  • Review monthly personal property tax accounting, preparation and/or review of personal property tax filings with state and local tax jurisdictions, act as lead on any jurisdictional audits
  • Review monthly and quarterly sales/use tax filings, including the processing of payments, act as lead on any jurisdictional audits
  • Coordinate the gathering of information needed for the completion of quarterly income tax provisions and annual corporate income tax returns
  • Other general ledger entries at month-end closing
  • Select balance sheet account reconciliations at month-end closing
  • Select expense account variance analysis at month-end closing
  • Prepare various financial audit schedules and analysis
  • Cross-train and assist with duties of other accountants
  • Follow proper accounting procedures to reach financial objectives
  • Work with strong time management and organizational skills

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or described in Company policy.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years in Accounting, three or more years of work experience as Accounting or Finance supervisor/manager.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Skills:

  • Strong aptitude for numbers
  • Good analytical skills

VALUED BUT NOT REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Education: CPA, CMA, MBA Experience:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains), FAS, Sage, BNA or similar fixed assets applications
  • Health care industry experience
