CT Surgery Physician Assistant Locums Job in Illinois | Call Coverage Support to Assist in OR + Patient Rounding | Late May Start
Jackson and Coker is partnered with a facility in southwest Illinois that needs Cardio Thoracic Surgery PA coverage starting in mid-May or early June. The facility is interested in onboarding 2-3 providers to cover between 7-10 24 hour call coverage shifts per month each.
Coverage Need:
* Seeking CT Surgery Physician Assistant 24-hour call coverage for 20-25 days per month
* Willing to work with 2-3 PAs if necessary; Seeking candidates to cover a minimum of 7 shifts/month
* Coverage will start in late May or early June (credentialing takes ~60 days)
Credentialing Requirements:
* Must have first assist experience with heart & lung cases + doing EVH
* Must have a current DEA registration with schedules: 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4 + 5
* Must be able to confirm having worked a minimum of 500 hours of CT Surgery work within the last 12 months
* Must be able to provide recent case logs (last 12 months) for Vascular access placements, vein harvesting procedures & chest tube placements
* Must have an ACLS (AHA specifically)
Description/Requirements for Assignment #107776:
* Active Illinois license + CSR required for this opportunity
* Must have a current DEA registration with schedules: 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4 + 5
* Must be actively board certified
* While on call, will be required to assist in the clinic setting 1-2x per week for a few hours to see post op patients, do staple/suture removal, wound care, etc.
* Will be required to round & tend to emergent consults (surgeons will take phone calls) and will see an average of 1-2 cases per day
* Will be first assist in the OR & be comfortable with taking vein for CABG surgeries
* Current staff: 4 CT Surgeons + 1 experienced CT Surgery PA
* COVID vaccination is required + Flu vaccination
* Facility detail: 150+ bed facility, level II designated trauma center, Epic EMR
