Physician Assistant - Cardiothoracic Surgery
SSM Health Dean Medical Group - Madison, WI
SSM Health-Dean Medical Group, a 500-physician multi-specialty group, is actively recruiting an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant to work in our well-established Cardiothoracic Surgery Department.
Must have at least one year of experience practicing as a surgical Physician Assistant and a strong attraction to the operating room. Must be able to function in a high-stress environment and thrive within a team approach model.
The new provider's responsibilities will include assisting in the operating room (including endoscopic and open vein and radial artery harvesting); patient care on the Cardiothoracic Surgery in-patient unit; night call on weeknights and weekends (approximately 1 in 5 for each) for floor patients and for the operating room; and rare outpatient clinic care. Our teams include leading cardiologists, electrophysiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons - all providing the most innovative inpatient heart care.
Opportunity Highlights:
- Hours vary between 7am-5pm, 5 days a week with rotating weekend hours

- SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital, a 440-bed tertiary care and referral center, is an award-winning facility and has been serving South Central Wisconsin since 1912
- SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital is an ACS Level II Trauma Center
- The SSM Health Cardiac Center includes three dedicated cardiovascular operating rooms, a hybrid suite, a 37-bed nursing unit that offers 24-hour telemetry monitoring, 12-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit and a 10-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit
- SSM-St. Mary's Hospital is the referral hospital for the 7-hospital SSM Wisconsin Region. Our Wisconsin Region also counts 4 additional affiliate hospitals in our network
