Reason for coverage: Growth, unable to recruit full-time position
Schedule: Mon-Fri and rotating weekends, Sat/Sun
Shift: APPs work four 10-hour shifts Mon-Fri from approximately 5:45am-3:45pm.
Call: No call duties.
Patient volume: No more than 9 patients per one APP
Scope: Primarily the role is inpatient medical management of our neurosurgery patients. Patients are pretty complex and sick, a 4.8 average CMI.

Group/support: Great team environment. Work group for the team consists of 4-5 APP colleagues each day sharing the workload and working together in one work room to solve patient care issues. Patients are typically spread across floors throughout the hospital but most primary patients are in one unit nearby the work room. Attendings round daily and residents help manage patients. Team rounding, electronic communication groups, other tools available to streamline communications and provide support.
Requirements (boards, license): APP clinical experience, proven ability to effectively complete complex patient care tasks and prioritize duties while excelling in team environment. Already licensed in state Oregon and experienced.

Working Hours
Weekend shifts are typically assigned via rotation (1:7) and usually consist of one half day on Saturday morning (5 hour shift) and one half day on Sunday morning (5 hour shift). Includes Saturday and Sunday rounds, discharging patients, and performing continuity of care duties on a variable rotating basis, according to department protocols and policy.
