We are seeking a Neurological Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to support its inpatient neurology team starting January 2025. The role involves working collaboratively with neuro interventional doctors as part of a comprehensive stroke program. This is a locum tenens opportunity with a schedule designed to balance professional and personal life while delivering exceptional care. The position requires managing a variety of inpatient neurology cases, contributing to a high-performing team in a Trauma Level II facility with access to cutting-edge technology and robust clinical support.

  • Provide inpatient neurology care in collaboration with the neuro interventional team.
  • Contribute to the comprehensive stroke program, assisting in patient assessments, care planning, and treatment.
  • Participate in 14 shifts per month, Monday through Friday (7 AM – 7 PM), and cover 1 weekend per month.
  • Document and manage patient care using the Epic EMR system.
  • Ensure adherence to protocols for stroke care and neurological interventions.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in achieving program goals and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Job Responsibilities

Provide inpatient neurology care in collaboration with the neuro interventional team.

Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in the relevant specialty.
Active Illinois State Licensure required at the time of application.
DEA certification required.
Additional Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and Illinois CSR License.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a neurology or neurosurgery setting preferred.
Familiarity with stroke care and inpatient neurology protocols is a plus.

Working Hours

Shifts: Monday to Friday, 7 AM – 7 PM.
Weekend Coverage: 1 weekend per month.
Total 14 shifts per month with no on-call responsibilities.
