Job Description:

An established neurosurgery practice in Newark, DE, is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) to join their team. This physician-owned practice maintains strong affiliations with a reputable hospital system in the area, providing comprehensive neurosurgical care to their patients. The position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with a renowned surgeon in a primarily surgical role, with ample opportunities for growth and professional development. While candidates with experience will be given priority, the group is also open to training!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in surgical procedures under the supervision of the neurosurgeon, including but not limited to cranial and spinal surgeries.
  • Perform pre-operative evaluations and post-operative care of patients.
  • Collaborate closely with the neurosurgeon and multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Conduct patient consultations and follow-up visits in the clinic setting.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate treatment plans.
  • Provide patient education on neurosurgical conditions, treatments, and preventive care measures.

Qualifications:

  • Current certification and licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA) in Delaware.
  • Surgical experience is preferred, but candidates with a strong interest in neurosurgery and a willingness to learn will be considered.
  • Strong clinical assessment and procedural skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
