Start Date: 90 days to credential from acceptance
Shift Details:
Nights only
6-10 shifts per month
6pm-7:30am Monday-Friday and weekend nights
Work Details:
Support Staff: 5 MD attendees and residents, easily accessible for the PAs.
Amount of Coverage Needed per Month: 6-10 NIGHT SHIFTS
Patients per Day: Varies
Patient Population/Age: Varies
Department Description:
Floor-based coverage of all neurosurgical patients, including primary team responsibilities, consults, emergent consults in the ED for hemorrhagic strokes, ischemic strokes requiring mechanical intervention, emergent neurotrauma consultations, and spine service consultations.
Floor responsibilities include daily rounds with attendings, admission, progress, and discharge notes, family follow-up, placing consults, and follow-up for all neurosurgical patients including post-op patients and neurocritical care level patients.
Expectations to perform bedside procedures like LP, EVD placement and adjustment, etc.
EMR: EPIC
Skills Required: Patient management of neurosurgical patients in a non-ICU setting. OR skill is nice to have but not required for this role.

COVID Vaccine: Required (2 shots and booster); exemptions will be reviewed but are not guaranteed.
Board Certification: Required
License Required: NJ
Certifications Required: DEA, CDS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, BLS
Experience Required: At least 5-10 years of inpatient floor/consult neurosurgery experience, ideally 5-10 years of neurosurgery experience.
Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days
