We are seeking an experienced Neurological Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a locum tenens opportunity in Harrisburg, PA. As a Locums Neurological Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Harrisburg, PA, you will play a key role in the management of neurosurgical patients. Responsibilities include rounding on existing patients, performing surgical site checks, managing drains and intracranial pressure (ICP) monitors, and documenting ICU daily notes. You will collaborate closely with surgeons and other APPs to pull census reports, prioritize established patients and new consults, and coordinate patient care. Additionally, you will assist with in-basket messages, facilitate communication between the surgical team, and support surgical procedures such as laminectomies, fusions, craniotomies, thrombectomies, and burr holes if comfortable. Your role will also involve walking to the hospital to begin rounds and ensuring efficient, high-quality patient care in a dynamic neurosurgical setting.
Requirements:
- Board Certified/Board Eligible Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Active Pennsylvania State License
- BLS/CPR Certification required
- Experience in neurosurgery preferred
