Our client, a nationally renowned academic medical center and integrated healthcare delivery system, is currently hiring a dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) to join the General Surgery team. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced PAs and new graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced surgical setting. The PA will play a key role in pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care, working alongside surgeons, residents, and a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform pre-operative evaluations and post-operative care
• Conduct history and physical exams, daily rounds, and progress notes
• Perform procedures such as wound care, suturing, drain removals, and tube placements
• Assist with patient education and discharge planning
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic tests
• Collaborate with attending surgeons, residents, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Certified (PA-C) and licensed (or eligible) in New York
• New graduates are encouraged to apply; training and mentorship will be provided
• Strong interest in surgical procedures and patient management
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment
