Our client, a nationally renowned academic medical center and integrated healthcare delivery system, is currently hiring a Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Vascular Surgery team in a non-surgical role focused on pre- and post-operative patient management, outpatient clinic care, and inpatient rounds. This position does not involve operating room time, making it an ideal opportunity for a PA who enjoys patient care, procedures, and working closely with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct history and physical exams, patient assessments, and follow-up visits
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for vascular surgery patients
- Perform in-office and bedside procedures, such as:
- Wound care and dressing changes
- Suture and staple removal
- Drain and catheter management
- Arterial and venous ultrasound-guided access
- Assist in vascular medicine management, including peripheral arterial disease (PAD), aneurysms, venous insufficiency, and dialysis access care
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging (CT, MRI, ultrasound), and lab results
- Collaborate with vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, nurses, and other specialists to develop treatment plans
- Educate patients and families on vascular conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications
- Participate in inpatient rounds, consultations, and care coordination
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system EPIC
- No operating room duties – Focus on outpatient and inpatient patient care
- Schedule: Full-time position with a structured schedule 4/10 schedule
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Certified (PA-C) and licensed (or eligible) in New York
- Experience in vascular surgery, cardiology, or internal medicine preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply!
- Strong interest in vascular disease management and outpatient care
- Ability to work collaboratively in a hospital and clinic setting
