Job Title: Physician Assistant - Surgery - General

As the largest hospital on the Southern Coast of Oregon, we proudly serve a diverse community with a catchment area of over 320,000 residents. We are currently seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to support our Surgical Services team in delivering high-quality healthcare and improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance in surgical procedures within assigned specialties, including Orthopedics, General Surgery, Urology, or ENT.
  • Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as per scope of practice.
  • Assist in room setup and turnover for surgical operations.
  • Support the operative team as directed by the OR manager and charge nurses.
  • Ensure adherence to proper sterile techniques during surgery.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Participate in ongoing educational growth and Enhance patient care through collaboration.
  • Uphold confidentiality standards and adhere to medical privileges as required.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Demonstrate the physical ability to meet the demands of the position, including lifting and assisting patients.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience as a Physician Assistant in Orthopedics.
  • Board Certified PA.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Basic computer skills and the capability to work with electronic health records.
  • Ability to think critically and act independently with minimal supervision.

License and Certification Requirements:

  • Valid Oregon Physician Assistant license (or willingness to obtain).
  • Board Certification as a Physician Assistant is essential.
  • Candidate must have ties to Oregon, such as family in the area or previous residency.
