We are seeking two experienced Nurse Practitioners (NP) or Physician Assistants (PA) for a locum tenens opportunity in General Surgery. This role involves floor management, ER admissions, consults, and first-assist duties during surgical procedures.
- Beds: Acute care hospital setting.
- Support Staff: Available APP/Mid-Level support.
- Travel: Mileage (personal vehicle), airfare, lodging, parking, rental car, fuel, and ground transportation provided.
- Privileges: Full privileges available (approximately 90 days to credential).
- Preferred Candidate: Local candidates preferred, but providers requiring travel will also be considered.
Job Responsibilities
Discharge Management: Handle patient discharges, including instructions, summaries, and orders.
Consults/Admissions: Evaluate ER consults or admitted patients with comprehensive physical exams, documentation, and operative planning discussions with the attending physician.
Surgical Assistance: Serve as first assistant in general surgery cases (open, laparoscopic, and robotic). Provide pre- and post-operative care.
Bedside Procedures: Perform dressing changes, drain/NGT removals, and other bedside tasks.
Qualifications
Licensure: Active Pennsylvania state medical license.
Certifications: BLS, CPR.
DEA License: Required.
Experience: Minimum 2 years in General Surgery or related field.
Working Hours
Fridays: 4 PM - 7 AM.
Saturdays & Sundays: 7 AM - 7 AM (includes rounding ~7 AM-12 PM).
Skills
Ability to perform bedside procedures and manage daily patient care.
Proficient in Epic EMR charting.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with attendings and support staff.
