Job Description: Trauma Surgery APP
Position: Trauma Surgery - NP/PA
Rate: $110/hour
Shift Type: Nights (3 p.m. to 1 a.m.)

Holiday Rate: $170/hour
Credentialing: Estimated within 30 days
Facility Overview:
- Setting: Level II Trauma Center
- EMR: Cerner Care B
- Support: 1 other Trauma NP/PA on day shift (7 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
Schedule/Availability:
- January Shifts: 16 shifts (see exact dates below)
- 12/31, 1/1, 1/3 - 1/5, 1/11 - 1/13, 1/18 - 1/20, 1/26 - 1/31
- February Shifts: 14 shifts (see exact dates below)
- 2/1 - 2/3, 2/11 - 2/15, 2/23 - 2/28
- Shift Hours: 3 p.m. to 1 a.m.
- Weekend: Possibly part of the schedule
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Required Procedures:
- Low/moderate risk: Laceration repair, IV insertion, fracture/dislocation reductions (minimal/moderate displacement)
- High-risk: G-tube placement, intubation, cardioversion/defibrillation, LMA, paracentesis, chest tubes, central and arterial line placement
- Trauma Patient Care: Manage ICU patients (20-25 per day), monitor, manage, and discharge trauma patients
- Pediatric Experience: Required to manage pediatric trauma, though pediatric volume is low
- Support: Work alongside trauma surgeon on call; no surgical assist duties required, but optional privileges available
- Other: Must be capable of handling trauma patients in a Level II Trauma Center
Required Qualifications:
- Licensure:
- Active California NP/PA license
- Completion of California CSEC for PAs
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support)
- DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration registration)
- NCCPA or ANCC Certification
- Experience:
- Previous Trauma/Critical Care experience required
- Must have experience managing pediatric trauma patients
- Actively working at a TJC-accredited hospital
