Shift Type: Days (4x10 or 5x8-hour shifts)
On-Call Requirements: Yes, one to two nights per week and every third weekend
Weekend Requirements: Yes

Job Overview:

  • Shift Schedule: 4x10 or 5x8 hour shifts, with on-call nights and weekends
  • Call Requirements: Night and weekend call; rotate schedule to cover holidays, weekends, and night shifts
  • Credentialing Timeframe: Minimum 60 days

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care:
    • Prepare and record patient history, develop and implement care plans, and participate in daily rounds
    • Utilize the electronic medical record (EMR) for order entry and documentation
    • Respond to coding and documentation queries
    • Participate in quality and safety initiatives
  • Diagnostic and Therapeutic Procedures:
    • Order and perform diagnostic studies such as EMG, ECG, CT, MRI, and bone scans
    • Perform procedures such as digital blocks, regional anesthesia, tendon repair, wound management, and minor outpatient surgeries (e.g., wound closure, incision and drainage, hardware removal)
    • Perform joint and bursa aspirations, closed reduction of fractures, joint injections, and splint/cast applications
  • Surgical Assistance:
    • Assist in surgeries, including first assist, tissue closures, and application of appliances
    • Participate in hospital rounds, write orders, and assist the orthopedic surgeon
  • Call Coverage:
    • Serve as primary orthopedic call for Hospital’s Emergency Department and inpatient units
    • Share call responsibilities with other PA’s and NP’s, including weekday, weekend, and 24-hour call coverage

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with EMR systems (EPIC) for documentation, assessment, and care management
  • Ability to work independently and handle emergent situations effectively
  • Strong communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration

Submission Requirements:

  • Board Certification: Required
  • Availability: Must be available full-time
  • Oregon License
  • Credentialing: Minimum 60 days for credentialing
  • On Call Availability: Must be available for night and weekend call coverage
