Job Summary

Geisinger is proud to offer a part time Patient Care Unit Assistant a $15 minimum hiring rate and up to $3 shift differentials for evening, nights, and weekend shifts! Also offering up to $40,000 in financial support to become a nurse!

Job Duties

  • Provides care for the comfort, safety and personal needs of patient under the direction and supervision of registered nurse. Identifies physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual factors as they relate to the patient age groups served. Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs procedures necessary for improving patient outcomes. Works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. Shares various tasks with other licensed and non-licensed staff members
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living such as ambulation, gait training, feeding, bathing and dressing.
  • Assists physicians and nurses with patient procedures as directed by Registered Nurse.
  • Transports patients as directed.
  • Assists with transport of specimens as directed.
  • Assembles equipment and supplies necessary for patient care and prepares them for use by patient and staff.
  • Performs observations of patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs by identifying and reporting changes to the Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse.
