Shift Details:

• 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM or 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
• Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, usually including 3 weekend shifts per month and 3 night shifts per month

Work Details:

• Department Description: Minimal 1st assist time as there are 2 fellows on service. Approximately 50% ICU time. No clinic work. Responsibilities may include rounding with heart failure/transplant, ICU, and mechanical circulatory support. Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, APP colleagues, and other clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient management. Duties include taking histories, performing physical exams, peri-operative planning, coordinating with outside providers and PCPs as applicable, responding to patient status changes, providing prescriptions, evaluations, and referrals, as well as ordering diagnostic tests and treatments as permitted under core privileges and standardized procedures. Responsibilities also include evaluating for and ordering home health services, durable medical equipment (DME), Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) certifications, consultations, physical therapy, radiographic imaging, or diagnostic tests, and specialized treatments (e.g., chemotherapy). The role also involves providing patient and family education, arranging follow-up appointments, and engaging in approved privileges after demonstrating competency through proctoring and FPPE processes. The OMAG will identify independent practice for approved privileges on the ECHO website, and procedural activity will be entered by the provider and monitored via the elog system.
