Dignity Health Medical Group - Arizona seeks a per diem Orthopedic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Chandler, AZ. Chandler Regional Medical Center is a full service, Level 1 trauma center in the heart of the East Valley. This is an employed opportunity, offering you the flexibility to work at least 5 shifts per month.
Dignity Health Medical Group is the employed physician group of Dignity Health Arizona. Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) employs approximately 300 providers and 850 support staff that cover a wide variety of specialties. The medical group has had tremendous success over the past few years and now provides more than 73 sub-specialty services. The physicians and APPs provide clinical services in their areas of specialty and many serve in pivotal academic research and leadership roles. DHMG is also heavily involved in preparing tomorrow's healthcare providers. Clinical services are complemented with translational and bench research to augment medical education for residents and students.

Responsibilities
Following is a summary of what you can expect in this role:
- Provide comprehensive acute care to patients with orthopedic conditions, including but not limited to the following:
- Assist with the surgical management of acute orthopedic patients, including pre- and post-operative care
- First assist in Orthopedic surgeries
- Round on our inpatients, contributing to the provision of high quality and coordinated care
- Consult on ER patients, providing diagnosis, appropriate plans of care and referrals as appropriate
- Order, interpret and analyze diagnostic tests
- Prescribe and administer medications and physical therapy as necessary
- Splint, cast and brace injuries as indicated; perform wound closures and dressing
changes
- Primary point of contact and assumes responsibilities for managing the care for patients.
- Takes 1st call - after hours and weekends included for all patients on service (ICU/Floor/Tele and after hours for answering service for clinic patients).
- Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement for patient care.
- Works within a multidisciplinary team.
- Additional duties as assigned by clinical or operational leadership.
Qualifications
PA Requirements:
- Degree as a Physician Assistant
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Background in pre-med preferred
- Minimum 3 years orthopedic PA experience, preferably in an acute setting.
- Must hold and maintain: a.) AZ Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants License, b.) NCCPA - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant.
- Valid DEA registration.
- Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff
NP Requirements:
- Master's Degree in nursing. Graduate of accredited program for nurse practitioners
- Compact state or Arizona RN license
- Arizona Advanced Practice Nurse license
- Surgical First Assist certification
- Minimum of 3 years orthopedic NP experience, preferably in an acute setting.
- Must hold and maintain National Certificate as a nurse practitioner in area of specialty under AZ regulations: a.) NP-AACN, b.) NP-AANP, c.) NP-ANCC, or d). NP-PNCB
- Valid DEA registration
- Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff

Pay Range
$76.14 - $76.14 /hour
