Job Posting: General Surgery PA

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: Ongoing

Shift Details:

• 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• 3 nights per week, typically between Wednesday-Saturday night
• Prefer fully open availability, but flexible with candidates' schedules

Work Details:

• Support Staff: Other APPs on service, RNs, Care Management, and General Surgery Residents in the OR
• Coverage Needed: 12-14 shifts per month (could use 2 people)
• Patients Per Day: 10-15
• Patient Population/Age: 18+ years old
• Department Description: Prepare patient information for those in the ER going to the OR. Have OR doctors' numbers for consultation if needed.
• EMR: Cerner
• Skills Required:
  • Comfortable with surgical pathology
  • Covering patients admitted to the hospital overnight and handling new consults from the ER or inpatient
  • Responding to nursing calls, completing night surgery notes for late-day admissions
  • Responding to urgent codes on surgical patients
  • Must handle basic skills like nose gauze independently

Requirements:

• State License: Maryland
• Board Certification: Required
• DEA: Yes
• CSR: Yes
• Certifications: ACLS
• Minimum Experience: 1 year with consult experience

Credentialing Timeframe: Up to 90 days
