Locums – Syracuse, New York, NP/PA Vascular Surgery Opening Clinical Role:

  • Dates of Coverage: 8/1/2025-10/31/2025
  • Reason for Coverage: Covering FTE paternity leave
  • Practice Setting: Hospital based, no outpatient/clinic
  • Schedule (Shifts/Hours): Prefer willingness to cover all shifts/days. 24/7 coverage. Typically, 10–12-hour shifts. Usually 7a-7p, 7a-5p, 9a-9p, 7p/9p-7a
  • Call Schedule: If on the weekend will have call opposite their shift (i.e. if working 7a-7p will cover 7p-7a call). Otherwise perhaps 1 day/week overnight OR call
  • Average Number of Patients Per Day: 3-5 to round, 3-5 OR cases to cover
  • EMR: Epic
  • APP will be working autonomously
  • Supervising Physician Present During Assignment? On call physician available 24/7. Primary surgeon for each patient also available
  • Patient Age Demographic: adults 18+, no pediatrics
  • Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 2 months
  • Required Duties:
    • Pre-Op Physical Exams
    • Suture Removal
    • Diagnose Illnesses
    • Treat Illnesses
    • Order Tests
    • Interpret Tests
    • Assist in Surgery
    • Write Prescriptions
    • Coordination of Care
    • Rounding
    • Removal of permcaths/CVCs
  • Board Certified: NCCPA, ANCC/AANP, NP must have RNFA certification - Required
  • Active NY License (Willing to accept those needing to obtain as long as it is available on 8/1/2025)- Required
  • BLS, ACLS- Required
  • No new grads please. Vascular surgery/cardiothoracic operative experience. Must also be comfortable managing inpatient/internal medicine (hypertension, diabetes, medical management)- Required
