We are seeking a skilled and certified Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with RNFA certification and extensive experience in cardiac surgery to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery team. This position emphasizes first-assisting in surgery, conduit harvesting, inpatient rounding, and consults. Providers will work collaboratively with a dedicated surgical team in a high-acuity environment.

Job Responsibilities

First-assisting in cardiothoracic surgeries.
Performing conduit harvesting using EVH Maquet Vasoview HemoPro 2.
Managing inpatient consults and rounding.
Procedures:
Placement of arterial and venous lines.
Removal of chest tubes, pacing wires, IABPs, and ECMO decannulation.
Occasional chest tube insertions with assistance from attending surgeons.
After-Hours Coverage:
Beeper call for consults and surgical emergencies.

Qualifications

Certification: Certified PA or NP (RNFA required).
Experience: At least 2 years in cardiac surgery.
Licensure: Active Ohio state license required.
Skills: Proficiency with Epic EMR, Maquet Vasoview HemoPro 2 for EVH, and advanced procedural techniques.

Working Hours

Most providers work 7-on/7-off; alternative scheduling can be considered.
Surgical cases typically begin between 7:00–7:30 AM, with days concluding around 4:30–5:00 PM.
Weekend rotation is 1-in-4 for inpatient rounding.
Shifts:
Estimated 14 shifts per month.
Weekend and evening call coverage required.
