Hi there! This is Jason Long with ProTouch Staffing - Locums Division. We have a facility in Pierce County, Washington in need of a CardioSurg APP (NP or PA) to start ASAP pending credentialing. This facility recently had a member of their team retire, hence the coverage need. What this tells us is this team ultimately needs someone there permanently. That could be you if you like the team and are a good fit!
What a "good fit: means is this Surgical APP needs to be highly skilled. There is a big list of procedures below. If you are comfortable with all these procedures, this team needs you! This is a great team & fantastic way to grow your career.

Schedule/Availability Requirements:
M-F 3-4 days calls & a 1:4 weekend call - Hours are variable, but in general. M-F 7a-5p. If the Provider is on call the hours for that day would likely be 10-12+ hours. Weekend call shifts are variable depending on patient census, but generally 6--8+ hours per weekend day. Call days include carrying a pager for 24 hours.
- Assist with pre and post operative patient evaluation and treatment
- OR First assist.
- Coronary artery bypass and all valve surgeries.
- Aortic reconstruction and aortic arch reconstruction.
- Robotic assisted thoracic surgeries.
- Endoscopic vein harvest.
- Open radial artery harvest.
- Minimally invasive valves.
- VATS and DaVinci Robot Thoracic Procedures.
- Thoracic and fore-gut procedures.
- ICU & Step-down management.
- Emergent procedures on the floor as required. (Chest tube insertions, arterial line insertions etc.)
- Daily rounds.
- Discharge summaries.
- Call every 6th night and every 6th weekend.
- Evening, night and weekend surgeries.
- Weekend patient rounds.
- Pre-and post-op patients, inpatients and outpatients.
- Walk-in/urgent clinic visits when primary surgeon is not available.
- Clinic wound checks as needed.
- EMR: EPIC
- Support Staff: RN
- Reason for Coverage: Staff retirement
- Setting: Inpatient
- 5 perm surgeons on staff (3 cardiac, 2 thoracic)
- 4 mid levels (3 PA, 1 NP and 1 in training)
- Cases- 6-8 hearts/week, 9-12 thoracic/week

Admissions per day, Patients/day, Types of cases, Disclosures that may need to be made, etc.
- 20 patients per day (Adult)
- Orientation (half the hourly rate, kicks in after 8 hours) - "per hour of orientation or training beyond 8 hours."
- Hourly - No OT - "per hour, no OT"
- 24 Hour call (must include 8 hours gratis) - "per 24 hours to hold the pager to include 8 hours gratis."
- Nightly Call (must include 2 hours gratis) - "per night call to hold the pager to include 2 hours gratis."
- Call back (Must match hourly) - "per hour of patient contact, after gratis hours completed, gratis prorate to MSA terms."
- Board Certified - REQUIRED
- Active WA License - REQUIRED
- 3 years of CV/CT surgery experience - REQUIRED, NOTE AT NAME CLEAR
- Availability stated at name clear - REQUIRED, NOTE AT NAME CLEAR
- COVID VACCINATION - REQUIRED, NOTE AT NAME CLEAR
- ACLS, BLS, DEA
- Clean Malpractice/background - REQUIRED
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS
- Board Certified
- DEA
- Washington
