Full-Time Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
Training and Mentorship Program Available for New Grads in EVH

The University of Kansas Health System - St. Francis is seeking a full-time Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who has completed a Cardiothoracic Surgery rotation. We offer an EVH mentorship and training program specifically designed for new graduates to enhance their skills in endoscopic vein harvesting as they transition into this full-time role.
Position Highlights:
- Patient Care Coordination: Deliver comprehensive care for inpatient and outpatient cardiothoracic patients, managing both acute and chronic conditions.
- Surgical Assistance: Collaborate with CV surgeons in both the operating room and clinic settings.
- Collaborative Practice: Engage in a close-knit team environment, working interdependently with surgeons and other Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
- Call Rotation: Participate in a shared call schedule with surgeons and APPs.
- Advanced Technology: Utilize EPIC for efficient electronic medical records management.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Cardiac surgery experience is required for established NP/PAs; however, it is not required for new grads who have completed a cardiothoracic surgery rotation.
- Certification: Vein harvesting certification and/or experience preferred for experienced NP/PAs, but new grads will receive training.
- Credentials: Must hold board certification as an NP/PA.
