Bilingual Physician Assistant (Radiology) - Fresno, CA (Sign-on & Relocation Bonus available)

Job Type: Full-Time (On-site)

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

  • Monday to Friday (8-5 or 7:30-4:30)

  • No weekends

Medical Specialty: Radiology

Patient ratio: 10-30 (Varies per day)

Summary: We are looking for a Physician's Assistant preferably with a California fluoroscopy permit although not required. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English and Spanish with experience performing minor procedures. Day to day expectations will be to perform consultations on interventional radiology patients, as well as performing various procedures ranging from cosmetic to diagnostic procedures

Responsibilities:

Clinical:

  • Assist with pre-procedure patient evaluation and preparation including reviewing pertinent labs and imaging, completing H&Ps, consents, and collaborating with staff to expedite patient care

  • Complete inpatient rounding, inpatient and outpatient consults in collaboration with interventional radiologists, order pertinent labs, imaging, and follow-up, and document plan in medical record

  • Provide follow-up care including follow-up phone calls, answering patient and family questions and concerns, and coordinate care with other providers to optimize patient care

Procedural:

  • Upon proven competency independently perform the following, but not limited to:

  • Paracentesis and Thoracentesis under ultrasound guidance

  • Placement, exchange, and removal of tunneled and non-tunneled catheters including implanted ports

  • Lumbar puncture and myelography under fluoroscopic guidance

  • Injection, exchange, and removal of drainage catheters including abscess drains, gastrostomy tubes, nephrostomy tubes, and cholecystostomy tubes

Qualifications:

  • Requires graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program, and currently registered as a PA-C

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with with radiology procedures (paras, Lumbar punctures, biopsies and line placement, as well as fluoro) Must perform complete detailed consults

  • Current ACLS certification & Physician Assistant License required

  • California Radiologic Technologist Fluoroscopy Permit required

  • Spanish speaking candidates preferred
