A health services network in New York is actively seeking licensed Nurse Practitioners (NP) to join their growing Psychiatric team! Openings in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and Bronx sites.

Responsibilities:

The Psych Nurse Practitioner (NP) will:
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments to evaluate patients' mental health and psychiatric conditions
  • Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications to treat mental health disorders
  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy
  • Educate patients and their families about psychiatric disorders, treatment options, medication side effects, and strategies for managing symptoms and improving overall mental health
  • Develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, setting specific goals and interventions to address their mental health needs
  • Assess and manage psychiatric crises, including suicide risk assessments and interventions for patients in acute distress
  • Monitor patients' progress through regular follow-up appointments, adjust treatment plans as needed, and provide ongoing support
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Provide education and training to nursing staff, medical students, and other healthcare professionals on mental health topics
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • NYS Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
  • Experience in a Psych role / setting
Desired Skills:
