**Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner opening in Waterloo, IA**
- Cedar Rapids 55m; Des Moines 100m
**Job Description:**
- Full-time, permanent
- Join an experienced and dedicated team of 4 NPs, onsite Psychiatrist, case managers, discharge navigators, counselors, and triage support
- Salary position with ability to pick up additional call and shifts but not required
- Equitable Holiday rotation
- 8 hours shifts 8AM-4:30 PM
- 7-8 patients average per provider
- Every 4th weekend
- Flexible and block schedules available
- Call 1-2 night per week and 1:4 weekends
- Strong Hospitalist program to manage IP Mental Health patients medical care
- Great retention of current providers that work well together
- Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination
**Responsibilities:**
- 21 bed inpatient unit with 2 providers on each shift seeing 7-8 patients per shift
- Adult only unit (ages 18 and up)
- Call schedule requirement: 9 days of call per month built in with option to pick up extra for additional compensation
- Challenging, but rewarding patient population
- Emergency Room: dedicated 5 room psychiatric hold area with controlled access
- 24-hour safety techs and daily behavior health consultants in the department
- Tele psych available after hours for Consults in ED or on the medical floors
- Strong community presence includes outpatient mental health clinic, community mental health center, walk in mental health care, and close
- Supportive environment with access to resources across the continuum of care
**Qualifications:**
- Certified Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner
- Strong preference for candidates with inpatient mental health experience as RN or NP
- Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of State
- Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary
