Job Description:
We are seeking compassionate and positive PA / NP to provide therapeutic support for patient with mental health, behavioral health, and substance abuse issues. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Physician Assistants (PA's) work collaboratively with our psychiatrist and therapy team in both outpatient and inpatient settings, providing psychiatric services and care to the adult population, including clinical diagnosis, intervention planning, medication management and discharge planning. The NP/PA in Psychiatry functions as an integral part of the clinic team. The position is Full-Time, with occasional weekends or holidays, to be define in a quarterly schedule.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
" Provide psychiatric assessment
" Provide clinical diagnosis
" Coordinate care with social work for patient transition to outpatient care
" Recommend treatment options and follow treatment outcomes
" Active participation in case conferences and related team based meetings
" Prescribe psychotropic medication as appropriate for client care
" Work with the clinical staff towards the integration of health with behavioral health
" Partner with other staff toward best practice intervention planning
" Recommend discharge and aftercare planning
" Provide client education on behavioral health issues and strategies for recovery
" Clinical monitoring

Requirements:
" Nurse practitioner or Physician Assistant Degree degree with some training in Psychiatry.
" Licensed by the NC Medical Board of Examiners and/or the NCBON and/or the ability to obtain your NC Medical License and/or your NCBON Licensure.
" Excellent interpersonal skills
" Excellent oral and written communications skills
" Familiarity with EMR programs
" Confidence to work independently
" Willingness to take over existing patients as well as take on new patients
