We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Physician Assistant to serve as a Lead / Supervisor within our client’s School-Based Health Program. In this clinical and leadership role, you’ll oversee day-to-day health services operations across multiple school sites while providing high-quality, trauma-informed primary care to students K–12. The ideal candidate is a pediatric-experienced NP with strong leadership skills and deep knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid systems—driven by a passion to advance equitable healthcare access in underserved school communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive pediatric primary care and preventive services to students, including wellness exams, acute care, chronic disease management, and immunizations.
- Serve as clinical lead and mentor to a team of school-based NPs, RNs, and support staff.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations for school health personnel.
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements including Medicare/Medicaid billing and reporting.
- Collaborate with school administrators, families, and community stakeholders to foster student wellness and health equity.
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up with specialty providers and community-based supports.
- Lead and participate in care team meetings, case reviews, and clinical trainings.
- Promote trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and LGBTQ+-affirming care practices.
- Contribute to program development, health education efforts, and continuous quality improvement.
Qualifications
- Licensed Physician Assistant in the state of New York.
- Minimum 3–5 years of pediatric clinical experience—preferably in school-based, family medicine, or public health settings.
- Experience working with Medicare and Medicaid populations, including familiarity with relevant documentation and billing practices, is required.
- Previous supervisory or program coordination experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of adolescent health, school health regulations, and public health frameworks.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and team leadership skills.
- Commitment to equity-driven care, with experience serving underserved and diverse populations.
