ECU Health Physicians, ECU Health Maynard Children’s Hospital, and ECU Health Community Hospitals are expanding and seeking an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant to join their regional newborn hospitalist team located in Ahoskie, Roanoke Rapids, Washington, and Greenville, NC. ECU Health Children’s Hospital is the only tertiary facility in eastern North Carolina designed especially for pediatric patients and includes ECMO and pediatric surgery programs.

- Growing 9-hospital physician-led healthcare system
- Schedule includes (12)- 24 hour unrestricted call shifts at a regional facility and 16 days off per month
- Clinical responsibilities when providing coverage at ECU Health Roanoke Chowan Hospital & ECU Health North Hospital will include rounding and coordination of care from admission to discharge for all newborn patients and attendance all at risk deliveries and participation in the resuscitation, stabilization, and transfer of critically ill neonates as needed
- Provider will return to Maynard Children Hospital quarterly for continued competency and skills maintenance with the newborn and NICU teams
- Transfer support provided by ECU Health Medical Center
- PALS, BLS, and NRP certifications are required
- Close proximity to NC and VA beaches

Job Requirements include:
- Experienced PNP-AC, NNP or Physician Assistant- (At least 2 years of NICU Experience for PA)
- NC RN licensure & NC Nurse Practitioner or NC licensure as a Physician Assistant
- National Board Certification as a Pediatric NP-AC, Neonatal NP or as PA required, including maintenance
- 2+ years of experience in health care setting
- Applicants will be required to have BLS certification from The American Heart Association
ECU Health Beaufort Hospital
ECU Health Beaufort Hospital in Washington, NC is a 142-bed full-service hospital with an active medical staff of more than 50 physicians representing 20+ specialties, as well as more than 600 nurses, technicians, and support staff. The hospital offers a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services including medical, surgical, intensive care, emergency, pulmonology, orthopedics, urology, cardiology, and women’s services. In addition, there is a lab, diagnostic imaging services, physical and respiratory therapy. ECU Health Beaufort also features the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, offering leading-edge chemotherapy and radiation therapy, among other cancer services.
ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan
ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed community hospital located in Ahoskie. Serving four nearby counties, the hospital’s 15-bed emergency department serves approximately 21,000 patients per year. This modern facility provides a wide range of health services, including medical, surgical and radiation oncology. In addition, ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan’s Wound Healing and Pain Management centers serve as referral centers for neighboring ECU Health hospitals and providers.

ECU Health North Hospital is a 204-bed hospital that includes a medical staff of over 60 physicians. With a service area that includes Halifax, Northampton, and Warren counties, the hospital offers a broad range of medical and surgical services including 24-hour emergency care, primary and specialty care, and diagnostic services.
James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital at ECU Health Medical Center
The James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital, located on the campus of Vidant Medical Center, is designed to care for children from newborns to 18 years of age (and up to 21 years of age is patient is being followed by a pediatric physician). The 206,499 square foot 198-bed facility provides highly specialized services including a pediatric intensive care (PICU), neonatal intensive care (NICU), kids immunosuppressed specialty unit (KISU), specialty care nursery, mother-baby unit, pediatric ECMO services, 24/7 children’s emergency department, acute dialysis and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), pediatric radiology, pediatric rehabilitation, general surgery, cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, and craniofacial surgery. The James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital at Vidant Medical Center is a designated Children’s Miracle Network hospital, placing it among the nation’s top children’s facilities.
