We are actively seeking a skilled and dedicated Orthopedic Trauma Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our esteemed healthcare team in Denver, CO. As a full-time member of our orthopedic trauma department, the successful candidate will bring specialized expertise in managing traumatic musculoskeletal injuries while working closely with orthopedic surgeons and the care team.

The Orthopedic Trauma NP/PA will play a crucial role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating orthopedic trauma patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include assisting in surgical procedures, performing fracture reductions, casting, splinting, wound care, and joint aspirations/injections, and managing pre-operative and post-operative care such as hospital rounds, discharges, and follow-up visits. The provider will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including surgeons, nurses, and physical therapists, to develop and implement patient treatment plans. Additional duties include ordering and interpreting diagnostic imaging and lab tests, documenting patient encounters using electronic medical records (EMR), and ensuring seamless coordination of care for trauma patients.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program
  • Certification as an NP or PA (Orthopedic or Trauma experience preferred)
  • Licensure to practice in the state of South Dakota
  • Experience in orthopedic trauma, emergency medicine, or surgical specialties is highly desirable
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
