WE are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with orthopedic surgery experience for a long-term locum tenens assignment. The provider will support both inpatient and outpatient settings, providing high-quality care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Provide comprehensive orthopedic care in collaboration with the orthopedic surgery team.
  • Assist in surgical procedures and provide perioperative care.
  • Conduct patient evaluations, order diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans.
  • Perform hospital rounds, manage inpatient consultations, and coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in on-call rotation with a response time of 30 minutes.
  • Document patient encounters accurately in Epic EMR.
  • Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families.

Job Responsibilities

Qualifications

Must be a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Georgia.
Board Eligible or Certified in specialty.
Minimum Experience: Not specified, but prior orthopedic surgery experience preferred.
Required Certifications: ABLS (Advanced Burn Life Support).
Hospital/Surgery Center Privileges Required (Temporary privileges available for qualified candidates).
Must be eligible for expedited credentialing (60 days for clean providers).

Working Hours

Clinic Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM (1-hour lunch).
On-Call Schedule:
Call shifts from 5 PM – 8 AM and weekends on a rotating basis.
Call Ratio: 1:2, with 30-minute response time required.
Call type: Beeper.

Skills

Strong clinical skills in orthopedic surgery, including preoperative and postoperative patient management.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a care team.
Experience with inpatient rounding and outpatient clinic care.
Proficiency in Epic EMR system.
Excellent communication and patient care skills.
