Location: Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center

Status: Full Time

Schedule: PA team consists of 6 providers working 3-4 shifts per week. APPs rotate through 5, 1month-long rotations, that cover clinic, inpatient, OR and weekend duties. Each APP will rotate through weekends every 5th month.

Call: Coverage of group call as needed, which include nights and weekend shifts.

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a 650+ provider multispecialty group practice that seeks a certified advanced practice provider (PA-C) to manage orthopedic trauma patients in collaboration with the orthopedic trauma surgeon(s). The position includes direct clinical management through utilization of approved protocols and procedures as well as appropriate medical consultation. The APP will work closely with the Orthopedic Trauma Medical Director and other members of the trauma service to evaluate new trauma patients in the Emergency Room, to provide direction to hospital personnel regarding patient management issues, and to manage inpatient orthopedic fracture patients. This individual will also work in the operating room and outpatient clinic settings.

The qualified PA-C will show evidence of comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills and problem-solving abilities, and commit to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care. Candidates must hold a valid controlled substance registration with both the Idaho Board of Pharmacy and the DEA and should have past surgical and/or critical care experience in a hospital-based setting.

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) is the principal provider of advanced, innovative and interdisciplinary trauma and critical care services. In addition, SARMC is an ACS verified Level II Trauma Center whose annual trauma volumes exceed 1,250 with over 400 patients with an ISS>16. Trauma is predominantly blunt in nature. The trauma surgeons participate in a primary and back-up call panel arrangement.


Requirements: Successful completion of a PA Graduate Program (Masters Level) NCCPA certified PA (PA-C); current medical license in Idaho; valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA; preference given to those with current BCLS, ACLS, PALS and ATLS.
