We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) with a specialization in orthopedic trauma to join a dynamic healthcare team at a Level 2 Trauma Center. This position combines inpatient and outpatient care, offering diverse responsibilities such as first-assisting in the operating room, managing trauma consults, and responding to emergency cases.

Job Responsibilities

Clinical Care:
- Round on orthopedic trauma patients.
- Conduct trauma consults and respond to Emergency Department (ED) cases.
- Provide first-assist support in the operating room for orthopedic trauma surgeries.

Procedures:
- Perform advanced skills such as suturing and fracture reductions.
- Independently manage trauma cases while consulting surgeons as needed.

Shifts and Call Coverage:
- Weekday Coverage: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM on-site, followed by off-site call from 7:00 PM–7:00 AM.
- Weekend Coverage: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM on-site, followed by off-site call from 3:00 PM–7:00 AM.

Adapt to varying daily trauma volumes and work collaboratively with a team of 2 APPs during the day and 1 APP at night.

Qualifications

Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Pennsylvania (PA licensure required).
Minimum of 2 years of experience in orthopedic surgery or trauma care, including OR assistance.
Proficient in suturing and performing fracture reductions.
Comfortable managing trauma cases independently and making critical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with Cerner EMR preferred.
Relevant certifications for Nurse Practitioners (ACNP, AGACNP) or Physician Assistants required.

Working Hours

Provide care at a Level 2 Trauma Center, ensuring comprehensive orthopedic trauma management.
Blend of inpatient, outpatient, and off-site care with telehealth capabilities as needed.
