Orthopedic Surgical Physician Assistant (Surgery PA) – Southern Colorado

Location: Del Norte, CO area

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant specializing in Orthopedics to join our hospital-employed team in Del Norte, Colorado. This role offers a mix of clinic responsibilities, rounding, and the potential to move into surgery. The position is part of an outpatient clinic attached to an acute care hospital, providing comprehensive orthopedic care to a diverse patient population.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $115,000 - $150,000+ based on experience.
  • Health Insurance: Two medical plan options, dental, vision, short-term disability, life insurance, long-term disability, and extended sick leave.
  • Retirement: 401(a) retirement plan with 3% employer contribution and eligibility for a 2% match on 403(b) contributions.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO):
    • Less than 5 years: 208 hours per year.
    • 5 years or more: 248 hours per year.
  • Additional Benefits:
    • Sign-on bonus, moving allowance, and loan repayment up to $50,000.
    • Annual CME allowance.

Position Highlights:

  • Patient Load: 18-20 patients per day in the clinic.
  • Procedures: Broad range of orthopedic cases including knee, ACL, hip, shoulder (rotator cuff), and ankle fractures; expanding sports medicine services.
  • Call: Evening and weekend call, not exceeding 12 days per month.
  • EMR: McKesson Paragon and Practice Partner system.
  • Radiology Support: Access to advanced imaging services including a 128-slice CT scanner, 1.5 Tesla MRI, onsite radiology 4 days a week, and 24/7 remote tele-radiology.
