Manhattan based orthopedic practice is looking to add a full time Certified Physician Assistant. This position is a 50/50 split between the OR and clinic, focusing on orthopedic spine cases. Previous experience in ortho is preferred or those that are highly proficient in the OR. Monday-Friday schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive medical care to patients under the supervision of a physician
- Conduct physical examinations and obtain medical histories
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging studies
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients
- Prescribe medications and therapies
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and their families about healthcare management and disease prevention
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- New York State Physician Assistant License
- Familiarity with standards of care in various healthcare settings
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
